Seiko-Kai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Australia Seiko-Kai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Australia Seiko-Kai is one of only a select few in Brisbane that has their own full time Karate Centre. This provides our students with a great atmosphere for training and gaining friendships with others. We pride ourselves on being a “Traditional” Japanese Karate style, passing on the Shito-Ryu traditions of Mabuni Sensei. We offer both a traditional environment and a family focused Centre, with this being reflected in many of our students having other family members involved.   Our Instructors still follow and maintain close ties with Karate's Japanese / Okinawan heritage, visiting Japan at least once a year to ensure our teachings are of an acceptable standard to both our Headmaster Suzuki Sensei and the seniors within the Seiko-Kai organisation. Our group teaches primarily karate techniques based on self-defence, but we also teach the sporting aspect for those interested in competitions. Seiko-Kai has a strong social network with various functions held throughout the year. These functions serve as way of getting all our students, parents and friends together so that they can all feel part of the Seiko-Kai group and share the enjoyment of what karate offers. We are also members of the Australian Karate Federation Inc. (AKF) and Queensland Karate Association Inc (QKA) providing you with avenues for competition at both a local, state, national and international level.
